What is Sunshine Coast Open House?

Sunshine Coast Open House is a free community event, which provides visitors with the rare opportunity to tour architecturally diverse, well-designed, sustainable and historic buildings across the region. The third annual Sunshine Coast Open House was held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October 2019 and featured 30 historic and contemporary buildings from Caloundra to the Hinterland and Pomona.

Sunshine Coast Open House is part of the Open House Worldwide network, founded by Open House London more than 25 years ago and now in 40+ cities around the world.

 

When is Sunshine Coast Open House?

The fourth annual Sunshine Coast Open House is expected to be staged in 2021.

 

Do I need to book to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?

The majority of particpating buildings are open access and you don't need to book. Just turn up during their listed opening hours and enjoy the exploring the building. Please note that some buildings may be popular and may have queues.

 

Does it cost to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?

No – Sunshine Coast Open House weekend is a free event for all.

How do I volunteer for Sunshine Coast Open House?

Sunshine Coast Open House invites you to join our team of volunteers in 2021! Sunshine Coast Open House volunteers will be integral to the event’s success. Volunteers will be assigned to one of the participating buildings and provide support by welcoming visitors, assisting with check-in, managing tour groups or lines, and acting as a representative of Sunshine Coast Open House. Volunteer for one shift (typically three to four hours) and receive a limited edition Sunshine Coast Open House tote bag. Email [email protected] to volunteer in 2021.
