2025 Program

The next annual Sunshine Coast Open House weekend will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October 2025, inviting visitors to explore a diverse selection of historic, contemporary, and sustainable buildings spanning from Caloundra to the Hinterland and Cooran.

Each year, Sunshine Coast Open House provides exclusive access to architecturally significant buildings, complemented by a rich program of walking tours, talks, and special events. A highlight of the weekend is the annual Open Forum, where industry experts and thought leaders engage in discussions on topical and thought-provoking issues shaping architecture and design.

The 2025 program will be unveiled in September, and Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for those interested in participating in this celebrated event.

Who Can Apply?

Sunshine Coast Open House invites submissions from organisations and individuals, including building owners or custodians, architecture and design practices, urban and landscape designers, and community groups who wish to communicate the importance of good design. We encourage EOIs from locations across the region, from the coastline to the hinterland.

What’s the Program Format?

Submissions may take the form of:

  • Open access buildings or building tours
  • Walking or site tours
  • Workshops, panel discussions, or talks
  • Film screenings and exhibitions

Most programs operate as Open Access, while some require Pre-Bookings for limited-capacity or timed tours. Some may include a combination of both.

  • Open Access buildings and spaces offer free, self-guided or guided tours that do not require pre-booking. Visitors can simply turn up and take part!
  • Open Access & Pre-Booked Events allow for a mix of drop-in visits alongside pre-booked tours or events.
  • Pre-Booked Programs are required for certain sites with limited capacity or security considerations, such as residential homes or construction sites.

All pre-booked tickets will be managed by Sunshine Coast Open House. We will work with each site to determine appropriate capacity.
