What is Sunshine Coast Open House?
Sunshine Coast Open House is a free event, which provides visitors with the rare opportunity to tour architecturally diverse, well-designed and historic buildings across the region. The inaugural Sunshine Coast Open House on Saturday 21 October will feature 30 historic and contemporary buildings from Caloundra to Pomona and beyond.
Sunshine Coast Open House is part of the Open House Worldwide network, and is an initiative of Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Shire Council and the Australian Institute of Architects Sunshine Coast Committee. This year’s Open House also celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast and highlights the growth and innovation within the region over the past 50 years.

Do I need to book to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?
In our inaugural year we are opening 30 buildings. The majority of these buildings are open access and you don't need to book. Just turn up during their listed opening hours and enjoy the day. Please note that some buildings may be popular and may have queues.
Six buildings have pre-booked tours only, due to their limited capacity. Online bookings will open on Wednesday 11 October at 9.00am. Please visit the 2017 Building list to review the participating buildings and plan your day.
Does it cost to attend Sunshine Coast Open House?
No – Sunshine Coast Open House is a free event for all.
Where can I get a printed program?
The Sunshine Coast Open House 2017 Guide Book will be available at participating buildings on the 21 October, as well as Council Administration Centres before then. The program is also available to download HERE. The guide book is packed with everything you need to plan your Sunshine Coast Open House experience.
How do I volunteer for Sunshine Coast Open House?
Sunshine Coast Open House invites you to join our inaugural team of volunteers! Sunshine Coast Open House volunteers will be integral to the event’s success. Volunteers will be assigned to one of the participating 30 buildings and provide support by welcoming visitors, assisting with check-in, managing tour groups or lines, and acting as a representative of Sunshine Coast Open House. Volunteer for one shift (typically three to four hours) and receive a 2017 limited edition Sunshine Coast Open House bag featuring artwork by local artist Thom Stuart.
